Wedding Song

Monday, November 29, 2010
On my way to work this morning, a DJ mentioned weddings and songs.
I guess Mondays are the day you talked about the weddings the day before (FYI, my BFF had her wedding reception yesterday too so you can say that I'm still in a wedding mood) =)

The DJ would pick this song WHEN it's the time for her to walk down the aisle:

Snow on the Sahara by Anggun. She is an Indonesia but she has make a name for herself internationally.
I have to say the DJ made a very good choice. This is one of the favourite songs but it won't be my wedding song.

WHEN it's time for ME, it would definitly be this song:

Now, what's your wedding song?

The Final 3 TAR Asia

Yup!
The Amazing Race Asia Season 4 is coming to an end
and the 3 teams left standing (and exhausted) are:

Team Indonesia
Natasha and Hussein - Daughter/Father

Team Philippines
Richard and Richard - Friends
Very confusing for a friends to have a same name but it works well with me.
It saves me from remembering their respective name.. LOL!
And I like them better when they are bald.

Team Singapore
Michelle and Claire

Who am I going for this Season?
Hmmm... tough one.
I like the Father/Daughter team to win coz if they do, they would be the 1st Father/Daughter team to win an Amazing Race Asia.
But then, I also want Michelle and Claire to win. It would be 'fun' to watch them winning it. They are not a favourite team but they might just surprise you.
As for the Richards, I think they can win this race if they keep their heads on it. They got the strength and the stamina.

So, I choose every team. LOL! Each team deserves to win this race.
All those teams who got eliminated didn't deserve to be in the final...

The Amazing Race (US) Season 17 got 2 more episodes to go as Nick and Vicki were spared from eliminated for the second time (how lucky can they get) even though they had given up in the last detour.
But my bet is that teams Nat and Kat, Jill and Thomas and Brooke and Claire would be the top 3 teams for the finals and this time I place every confidence on the all-girls team!!

~~You're my sunshine after the rain~~

Wednesday, November 24, 2010
I got the not too-crazy morning yesterday
but not my normal morning either.

In order to finish my downloads, I got off late from work that morning...
...which is a bit okay, considering that I'm going to relieve a colleague somewhere.

But then I got stuck in the traffic, realized that my fuel ain't that enough for the journey
so I stopped for fuel.

Once I reached the highway, I got stuck again - in an accident!
Pllluuurrrggghhh!

And yesterday, of all day, I decided to drive 1300cc car instead of my 'super' 2000cc car.
I can't drive-like-mad no matter how bad I wanted to reach on time coz of the car
so I ended up 5 minutes late... which ain't that bad either, I think?

Then, quarter to 10am, I had to rush back to my workplace coz somehow, with so many people getting off and sick, my colleague was left alone! So, I drove as fast as I could.

Arrived at my workplace, no parking available. So I just blocked everyone.. LOL!
I just left my car key to the security... I'm not that selfish! Haha!

My 'reward' came early in the afternoon =)
Thank you God for sending that guy with the yummy necktie to brighten up what's left of my day =D

New Year Eve Plan?

Monday, November 22, 2010
Oh! I know New Year (for some of us) is long way to go but counting the weeks, it's just 5 weeks to go to the year 2011!

For those who are conscious of the times and days that passed by, I'm sure you guys have already plan what to do for your new year eve.

As for me, I don't have plan for the new year eve. Oh! I know it's coming soon... way too soon for me to catch up but I know that I would end up doing nothing!
Hah! Boring eh!

But this year, I would be doing something!
Surprise! Surprise!

Actually, I would be working!
Haha! Yup! Everyone would be having a nice long weekend this end of December but the last week of December till 2nd January 2011, I would be working 7 hours a day, 7 days a week, no break!

What a way to start the 2011!

That's my new year eve for me.
What about yours?

Trip to the beach(es)...

Firstly, we stopped by at the Meraggang beach...

Then we went to Muara beach.
There was no empty parking available and my nieces insisted wanna play, so Dad had to stay in the car...

Oh! Last stop would be the Serasa beach but my HP's battery 'died' (it happened every time I'm on photo-taking mode) so no photos of Serasa beach available at this time. LOL!

Hope you guys had fablicious weekend!

Saturday, November 20, 2010
Me and my BFF were talking about local artists, local musics and all those local music industry yesterday and at 1 point, she mentioned that 1 of our local artists has a song featuring Samantha Mumba and Mariah Carey appeared in the music video and I was like, "WHAT?! Seriously?"

And with her advice, she asked me to search it in the youtube.com.
And waa-laaa... there it is!

This single was out August 2009 and I only know about it NOW!
Wah! I am so left wayyyy behind.
Am I living in a cave?? LOL!

Eat Pray Love - The Movie and The Book

I managed to watch this on DVD last night and it was ahhh-mehhh-zing!

Okay! Maybe that's just for me but gosh! I am so ashamed that I had never read the book!
Yup! Of course I heard of this book but somehow of all the books that I had read, somehow I miss reading this one.

To think about it, I had never read any books by Elizabeth Gilbert (FYI, she is the author of this book). Oh, check out her website... it's great!

Eat your heart out in Italy, Pray for the search of your inner being in India and Love somehow finds its way to your heart in Bali, Indonesia.

I got to admit, I think I went thru' a mini phase of what Liz Gilbert had gone thru but in a minute scale... I think ;)

Now, I need to get that book!

Oh well, there goes another eligible bachelor being crossed off my list LOL!

Kate couldn't stop her hand from flaunting around (I would be too if I have that gorgeous heirloom on my ring finger!) *sounds like a jealous lady... which I am* haha!

Congratulations Prince William and Kate!

When smoking is ALMOST prohibited everywhere

**Before I go any further, I would like to apologize to others if this post is found to be offending but it's not my intentions.**

About a year ago (or was it 2 years back), Brunei government with the help of Ministry of Health had banned smoking in pubic areas mostly on government buildings and areas, hospitals, clinics, restaurants, bus stops and such (I think you got the idea).

But most citizens here in Brunei just take those law lightly. You can still see smokers puffing away almost everywhere....

....until the law is being enforced again recently where you can hear smokers being fined for smoking in public and the fine, you might consider the initial fine of $50 is quiet cheap but if you got fined again and again, trust me man, it ain't that cheap.

And when the government increased the price and the tax of a pack of cigarette, smokers started to get panic! From $2/pack to $7/pack (forgive me if I got the price wrong), I think that's a valid reason enough to get panic, don't you think? I know some smokers are blaming the government and all but hey, they are here to help. I mean, you wouldn't want to live and suffer from lung cancer, do you?

Some clinics (government clinics) even have Smoking Cessation Clinics to help the smokers to quit smoking by counselling and assessing their habits and diets where smokers are given Nicotine patches for FREE! Yup! You read me right!

Nicotine patches are FREE for those smokers who are willing to check themselves in for the SMC.

How do I know this? No! I'm not a smoker but at one time or other, I had dispense free nicotine patches to smokers patients.

Does the clinics and the patches work? The clinics, I have to say yes coz initially we only have 1 SMC (government based) here in Brunei but now, I think we have 3 (if I'm not mistaken).

As for the patches, I can't say it's working 100%. It depends on the individual. If you have the strong will to control yourself, it might be working.

I will post some tips on how to stop smoking soon....

Eid Adha Everyone!

It's the time of the year again - 10 Zulhijjah!
and it's the Eid Adha
or simply in Malay, we like to call it Hari Raya Haji or Hari Raya Korban (the day of sacrifice).

As muslims, we are encouraged to sacrifice a cattle - may it be the cows, the goats or the camels - if you can afford it.

To all muslim readers where ever in this round part of the world you may be, I would like to wish you an Eid Adha!

Barbie Girl - Aqua

Some songs would never get old and this song is one of them!
I know there are 'hidden' meanings inside this song but I won't dwell much into it.
Why? Coz hearing this song never fails to brighten up my day =)

A morning at Tamu Kianggeh (Kianggeh Market)

Friday, November 12, 2010
Tamu Kianggeh located exactly in the heart of the capital and it's named after the river, Sungai Kianggeh (Kianggeh River) which leads to Brunei River.

Every foods - may it be fruits (local fruits mainly), vegetables, fish, kueh mueh (traditional cakes and biscuits) and so many miscellaneous are being traded here.

You just have to brave through the crowd and the weather to discover them all.

As for me, I settle for whatever I happened to pass by.

See the clouds above?
What a nice weather...

How I Wish...

Tuesday, November 9, 2010
Today is one of those days where I wish:

1. I bought a SUV instead of a salon car (it was flash-flooding everywhere!)

2. I have a boyfriend/fiance/husband who could drive me to and from work so that I can sleep in the car during the heavy rain traffic =P

3. I don't drink too much Coke on a rainy weather (I badly need to go and pee while I was stuck in the traffic).

4. I fix my car stereo so that I can listen to my favourite songs instead of listening to boring news on the radio.

5. A car has an auto drive... you know like a plane with an autopilot.. hehe. My thighs are in pain, I don't know why and today made it even worst!

But overall, I still LOVE the rain! It was just so..... bless-ly!

A E I O U in a relationship

A = acceptance
accept your partner for who they are.
remember, you are falling in love with who he/she is. if
you try to change them, they are no longer 'themselves'

E = empathy
accept who they are because you want to NOT because
you sympathize with the person

I = interested
be interested in whatever your partner is saying and doing coz you might never know when the 'quizzes' would pop up

O = open up
open up to each other about your likes, dislikes, interests,
hobbies and dreams. you might be surprised on what you might discover

U = understanding
do I need to explain further? Nah! I think couples out there are expert in these stuffs compared to me.

~~Amazing~~

Monday, November 8, 2010
Late today afternoon, it was raining heavily and I was sure I would be caught in the traffic jam.
Hence I stopped by Jame' Asre mosque for my Asar prayer
and managed to snap some 'illegal' pictures of the interior of the women prayer hall.

A colleague... showing off =P

A colleague of mine just bought a new DSLR camera, Canon EOS 550D and as usual, he likes to show it off, especially to me!!

Oh nevermind!
He can show it off as he likes.
At least he lets me play with it... hehe!

My Friday

Morning

Went to the fish market. Dad knows that I'm so totally hopeless with choosing fish and cooking them hence he loves to drag me to the fish market!

He said, if I
don't know to choose and cook the fish, at least help him by just carrying them! Great! I look like a maid walking alongside my dad carrying all those fishes.

But what I love my dad for is that whatever I want to eat, he would buy it for me
*huge grin* and my favourite would be
crabs!

Here craby craby~~~~

Afternoon

Me and my brother went to watch Megamind 3D. This would be my second 3D movie experience.

The 3D cinema is okay. I wouldn't say it's great either. Somehow it doesn't really deliver the effects.. hmmm. BUT the movie is hilarious! It's a fun family movie.

.... bags!

Now, let's see!
The pink 1 is my 'homework' bag where every work I have to bring home I stuff in that bag. I should get a smaller bag instead a big one (so less 'homework' to bring home! LOL!)
The blue bag is my lunch bag.
Infront of my blue bag is my 'telkong' (prayer attire) bag.
The cream sling bag is my laptop bag.
And that colourful bag is my handbag/shoulder bag.

Too much?
Nah!
There is no such word as 'too much' when it comes to bags and lady ;)
