To Roadtrip Fanatics - Worth Checking Out!

To the Bruneians out there, I think I don't have to introduce to you who are Norhayati and Harun but for some of you who don't know who are these 2 people, well, let's just say that I would call these people the most adventerous people in Brunei. Forgive me if I miss others but Norhayati and Harun are by far the most outstanding adventerous people that I am proud to call my fellow country men.

Norhayati and his husband, Harun had travel the world, figure of speech. They went to roadtrips after roadtrips with their Toyota 4 by 4 SUV named Jambo. Norhayati's first achievement - that was well-known to me - was when he climbed the Mount Kilamanjaro in the Africa. Then she went from 1 expedition to another and the way I see it, there is no stopping this couple.

They just completed their Trans Russia and Europe and their next journey would be Africa, North and South America before going to Australia with their Jambo. The sole purpose of this expedition is to 'introduce' Brunei to others, which is an applaudable cause, I must say.

Expenditure, well, it doesn't come cheap and it is well explained in their website, overthehorizon.net (click on the link to go to their website). They support themselves from the sponsorships, donations and contributions from companies and individuals. And I'm sorry to say that I have not the money nor the sponsorship for them. All I can do is to promote and support them via my blog.

Wishing them all the best on their journey. I sure am jealous as hell on their roadtrips but well, what to do? I need to work in order to get the money to embark on those adventures.

...to Brunei's first and youngest woman to ski to the South Pole, Dk Najibah Eradah. She is one of the women from 8 different countries to go to Antartic for the Kaspersky Commonwealth Antartic Expedition.

Being an adventerous person, truth laid out her, m soooo drop dead jealous of her. BUT at the same time m proud of her. Besides if m given the choice to join, I think I would decline. Reasons: 1) m easily get sinusitis, 2) I cannot stand cold weather (and Antartic, definitly not a place I want to 'mess' around with), 3) I don't have much fats to insulate me from the cold. Well, that's the only reason I can come up with at the moment.

So to Era, the very best of luck to you. May you depart and arrive safely. When eventually if you can't make it the "900km in 40 days" journey, don't be disappointed. Just remember, by being there, you are making me proud...you are making Bruneians proud. If others can do it, so can we....YEAH!!!

Adventure Show Asia 2009

I was watching the telly this morning and this caught my attention. There would be an adventure and sport show which will be held at Mid Valley, Malaysia starting tomorrow(!!!!), 9th - 11th October 2009! Being an adventure freak, m so fascinated to go! But I can't! Urrggghhh! Why can't they held it sometimes next week, then I would be on leave and then I would be able to go!! Berapa banyak then laaaa...

From what I learnt (from the telly), this would be the 1st Asia's adventure and sport show! And there would be 4 pavillions - aquatic, on land, sky and travel pavillions! M dying to go!!! Considering that it's being organized by a Malaysian's company, mostly 80% of these adventures and sports would be held all over Malaysia. Apart from the Malaysian, representatives from Singapore and Indonesia would also be there! Wah!! Now, m soooo teruja to go!!

Why can't Brunei held something like that? I mean, apart from KNK (Kenali Negara Kita), I don't see any other organization that willing to promote Brunei with adventures and sports activities...hmmm...
