Light-less

I never thought a day would come when I have to use a torchlight to work.

For the last 2 working days, since last Saturday and Monday, we had been experiencing power failure.

The funny thing is that the power failure occurs at 7.40am; 5 minutes before the official working time. Good timing huh! And the power cut would be an hour till 8.40am when everything resume back to normal.

I was wondering whether this is part of the government plan to conserve energy. But as my knowledge, the power failure only affecting our building - 8 floors altogether. Luckily, I'm on the second floor and I honestly don't envy for those who work on the 7th and 8th floor. Climbing up the stairs to the upper levels is not a problem for me (it's a good exercise actually) but climbing up those stairs with high heels, skirts (as in baju kurung) with bags all around (handbags, laptop bags and lunch bag), that I cannot do. As my boss on the 8th floor said, "...perfume gone even before i reach the office..." LOL!

AMR Workshop

what an exhausting 5-day i'm having!

department of pharmaceutical services, moh brunei was conducting a workshop on the rational use of antimicrobial agents which was held in radisson hotel from 5th-9th december 2011.

a total of 60 participants from brunei, loa PDR, indonesia, malaysia and the philippines were selected coming from different fields. we have a room filled with doctors, pharmacists, microbiologists and infection control personnel.

initially, when my name was selected for this workshop, i was like...yuck!! mainly because i'm not an "office person". i don't like sitting in a room for hours, doing reports, typing into the computer. i'm more like an active person. i like to move around and not stay at one place for hours.

seminars, workshops, meeting as such is not my cup of tea, shall i say, so i was not that enthusiastic to attend this workshop. furthermore it started at 8am and end at 5pm! but as the day passed and as we learnt more and more into the topics presented by the WHO consultants, i changed my mind.. yes! i did! shocking, i know! lol!! we even had a field trip =D

the workshop was very informative, educational and the most important thing is that it an interactive workshop. every participants/groups shared their own experiences and gave their feedbacks.

the indonesian participants left early on today's last workshop as they have to catch their noon flight so i didn't manage to take pictures with them whilst the loa and malaysian paticipants are so shy that i too become shy to ask for photo session with them lol!

physically, i'm not that tired but this workshop mentally exhaust me - a lot of thinking, absorbing new information and now, reports and follow up to be done... yikesss!

Lousy/Lazy Blogger LOL

i admit!

i'm considered as one of the lousiest and laziest bloggers around LOL

and i'm not proud of it...

i was 'wasting' my time looking around my blog and only now i realized that i blog less and less (this year) as the months passed by... yikes!

if i'm in business, i think i would go broke lol!

have i lost an interest in blogging?

oh no! a chatty person like me (lol!) is never running out of ideas on what to write.

so, whatever am i doing, you might wonder?

now, let's see...

work-related matters, well, work is always hectic although surprisingly, patients are less these past 2 weeks but my paperworks are pilling up. in addition to that, it's coming to the end of the year, hence more reports pending to be submitted.

on top of those paperworks, my after office hours are filled with lectures and meetings... yikes!

last wednesday and today, i had been attending a lecture and a meeting respectively... more meetings coming up soon. so not looking forward to....

the available time i have at home, i make good use of it....

"skype-ing"

gosh! i'm so addicted to skype nowadays *wink*wink*

apart from "skype-ing", i spend a lot on reading and end up by falling asleep with the novel somewhere lying around in my bed, with the lights still on lol!

and there is nora elena

this malaysian drama series is so addictive.

what's more is that it's an adaption from a novel, kasih yang suci by meen zulaikha.

i read the novel years ago and when finally it is made into a series; with my favorite handsome actor, aaron aziz.... fewwwhhh! i'm officially hooked!

CPSS Lunch

**Long overdue pictures**

After being postponed so many many times, at last after a year and a half later, we finally had our CPSS lunch.

Scattered to 9 health centers, me and my colleagues gathered one Sunday for lunch.

But unfortunately, not all can manage to come.

Nevertheless, we had fun!

I stayed for almost 2.5 hours and you can imagine how many times I made trips to the buffet table.. haha!

The Pros and Cons of the AE Duty

I just completed another week of my AE (Accident and Emergency) duty.

How do I feel? Oh! Too damned tired! 7 nights non-stop working!

Here's MY pros and cons of the duty.

(Bear in mind, it's just my opinion)

Let's start with the cons:

1. Duty starts at 5pm

By the time everyone is ready to go off from work, I'm getting ready to go to work.

2. Gosh! The weather!!

5 afternoons out of 7 was super hot!

3. Working ALONE!

... for freaking 7 hours (with 30 mins prayer break, super fast dinner break and toilet break).

4. For someone as chatty as I am, I get bored easily with no colleague to talk to.

5. Working alone means you have to do everything yourself and that includes more patience-tolerance (cos there is no one to back you up if you lose your temper).

6. Why do hospital parking lots are so dark, dull and eerie? Furthermore, why do they place the morgue near the parking lot? Getting off at 12 midnight and walking alone to the parking lot makes my imagination running way way way too wild!

7. Disturbed sleeping pattern.

By the time I came home, it's around 12.20am! I had my super late dinner, I had my prayers and with these and that, I slept around 2am!

8. By the time I came home, everyone's asleep... hence dinner alone, all by myself... so boring!

And the pros:

1. I can woke up late! The latest I woke up was 11am! LOL!

2. Less traffic! Cos I'm going opposite direction - everyone going home, I'm going to work.

3. I can get parking easily.

4. By the time I leave the hospital, the roads are super empty and super quiet and it only take me 12 minutes to arrive home.

5. I got 2 days off! Yea!!!

But then as you can see, there are more of the cons than the pros! LOL! So you can summarized whether I like my duty or not!

But I shall be grateful that the duty is only till 12 midnight rather than some ungodly hours! Working alone makes me appreciate more of my colleagues. Don't get me wrong. I am more than capable of working alone but you can't deny that the presence of colleagues would ease up the burden a bit.

And yes, these are the times I wish I have a bf /husband that I could order around to send and fetch me from work. LOL! I mean, which bf/husband would let the gf/wife drive home alone especially after midnights? Right? LOL!

2 weekends ago...

... it was 24th April 2011

and I had the fullest Sunday ever!

I woke up before the break of dawn, 4.30am to be exact,

switched on the heater, took my shower, got dress and around 5.30am hit the road to the capital.

No, I didn't woke up THAT early just to take pictures of the mosque, the symbol of our country; but I woke up THAT early to attend a walkaton (a MUST!) for a MoH's citizen!

Sorry for the backlight but I couldn't fix it.

It was 6am and as the program had it, everyone had to be there by 6am but as you can see, it was next to empty - still!

Time: 7am!

Few minutes before, me and PG (in blue shirt) was having a morning conversation.

PG: Hey, who are those hot chicks? Are there our staffs? (pointing to some support staffs from different hospitals).

Me: Yea, they are from RIPAS

PG: Geezz, they are hot!

Me: (patting her on the back) Don't worry PG, we are not bad either! We are looking hot too meh!

PG: Yea, totally agree with you!

LOL!

Back from walkaton, had my breakfast then it off to another function; a wedding.

Luckily, it's in a hotel, so it is more comfy hence no sweating LOL!

After wedding, we stopped by to my aunt's place, visiting grandma and by the time I came home, it's already 4pm. Took a nap and considering the day was also Brother Andy's 25th birthday, we had an early dinner to celebrate his birthday!
