As the kittens grow up....

Introducing our almost-1-month-old kittens with their beloved 'human' dad.. LOL!! aka my youngest brother, Muiz.

Why I called him 'beloved human dad'? Coz, he's the one who takes good care of them; feeding them, playing with them and put them to sleep *awwww*

While my other brother, Andy; he's their beloved human uncle. Why? Coz, he's the one bringing them to the vet for their check-ups and appointments ;)

Yesterday, they are exactly 3 weeks old and now that their eyes are open and they start to get use to crawling, it is so much fun just by watching them...

Ramadhan Addition...

Second day of Ramadhan, my lonely cat, Hitam (Blackie) gave birth to 3 adorable kittens. It's been a long long long time we didn't have any new born kittens in the family, so I was pretty excited about it. The last time we had new born kittens was like 9 years ago - told you it was that long!

Farewell Jojo

17/11/2007 - It's the day that I lost Jojo. He died caused by infections. He was given 3 shots of injections when I rushed him to the private vet clinic in Gadong late Friday afternoon and being supplied with liquid antibiotics and an eyedrop. I only managed to feed him the antiobiotics twice yesterday and the eyedrop once.

When my mum came home from work that afternoon, he was still alive and tried to move, in a way to greet my mum as he always did but when I came home 10 minutes later, he's gone! What's frustrating, I was not even there to 'acccompany' him for his last breath. But KC was there and he won't even budge from Jojo's body. I somehow can feel KC's pain and saddness.

He is losing the only friend he has....I couldn't even stop crying yesterday that my dad just quickly buried Jojo's body so that I won't be that sad. But I was and I'm still is! I'm losing Jojo. I'm losing something that is so dear to me. I can't stop thinking about him and about KC. Kc will be so lonely. Today, when I fed KC, I cried again coz KC look so lost, so lonely!

Trip to the vet (well...almost!) - Part 2

Saturday was supposed to be Jojo's - my female rabbit - appointment with the vet but considering that I couldn't take any off day last Saturday, so I decided to take her to vet for her appointment yesterday - Monday!


I fed then around 8am and they finish their breakfast around 8.30am (yup! it took them that long) and I was waiting patiently ourside their 'house' with my petcaddy nearby. I tried to lure Jojo out but somehow, KC - my male rabbit - was the one who 'love' me more hence acknowledging my presence compared to Jojo!!

Whenever I managed to catch Jojo, she would scratch, scratch and scratch until I had no other option then to let her go and when I did, my hands are filled with her fur (shows you how hard she struggled just to escape me).

After few minutes, I let her roamed around her 'house' when there were times, I think she purposely teasing me where she would look at me, to see whether I'm still around and to see what I was doing.. Lampuh as always, guarding the 2 rabbits from any harm and my petcaddy ready for its occupant

Looks like conspirancy in the making...

I tried to get her into the petcaddy but somehow, I'm defeated by her struggles. There is no giving up in my dictionary especially if it involved an animal - a pet, no less - but after 30 minutes trying to lure her into the petcaddy with no success, I gave up!!! I txted my best mate to ask Dr D whether it's ok for me not to bring Jojo for her appointment and Dr D said, it's ok and just bring her if she shows the same symptoms again!

"What? No more 'chasing'?" - Jojo getting relax after the "chasing" stopped!

"Ahh..can relax now"

Fewh...with that, I'm done with her (for yesterday) and just to waste my time, I went to Gadong and did some DVD/CD shopping..hehehe...

Stubborn Jojo

It's coming to the 5th day after her treatment and so far, I can count how many times only I had given Jojo her eardrops! No, it's not that I'm lazy or forget but somehow, honestly speaking from someone who had experienced it, giving an eardrop to a rabbit is far more difficult than I ever imagined!! Seriously!! She's like having a 6th or 7th sense that everytime I am near with the eardrop, she runs the opposite side as fast as her cute rabbit feets can carry!

I tried to bait her using her food. I let her get hungry (cruel me! I know) and when I feed her, I tried to instilled the eardrop into her ear. 1st ear, okay, no problemo but somehow when she feels the liquid entering her ear, she tried to scratch it. But to instill into her 2nd ear, it's almost came to impossible! She runs everytime she sees the eardrop and when I managed to hold her down, she scratch, scratch and scatch (...and win!hahaha! wishful thinking) until she got away! With the rate I'm progressing with her and the eardrop, I don't know whether she will be ready for her second treatment next week...

Trip to the vet

I slept around 2am this morning coz m trying very hard to finish Nisha Minhas' Tall, Dark and Handsome novel - which I haven't manage to finish yet and this morning my mum had to wake me up for my trip to the vet with Jojo. I fed them and when they finished their breakfast, armed with the petcaddy, I approached their adobe. Jojo somehow has the 6th sense and she stayed well away from me and believe it or not, I spent 15 minutes just to lure her to the petcaddy!! Not to mentioned that my trouser and shirt is partly covered with fur as Lampoh (my siamese cat) being a busybody tried to poke her nose in the messy situation; to find out what's happening! Talked about emotionally intelligence! 15 minutes later, covered with Lampuh's and Jojo's fur, I forced Jojo into the petcaddy and placed her in the car and all the way to the vet in Rimba, I 'talked' to her to behave herself. Yea! I know! The only disadvantages about rabbits is that they didn't speak nor do they make a noise to acknowledge that they hear you loud and clear....

Anyway, luckily it was not that busy when I came and I was the 14th pet owner...yippie!! compared to 30+..that could take ages! The vet on duty today is Dr Diana, which makes it even more easier, as I know her - she is a colleague of my best mate. Told her Jojo's problem and as predicted, it's only the mites. Dr D asked whether Jojo is pregnant and I told her that I had no idea. She told me the only way to know whether a rabbit is pregnant is by touching their nipples (sounds kinky!ahakz!) and Jojo isn't...ohh..what a shame! and a fact about rabbit, they can start ovulating starting the age of 1 week...seriously! Hmm..my expection is now a bit higher for this lovely rabbits of mine. But nevermind, work harder on it next time, KC..haha..

Jojo received 2 shots and an appointment in 2-week time. She's also being given an eardrop, to be used everyday. We will see how's she progressing....
