wednesday date

been ages me and hubby didn't go for a movie date..

last we went to watch movie together was (maybe) in april..

with hubby off to work last may, came back 2 weeks ago and with fasting month and Eid, only this afternoon, we managed to spare the time for a movie date

....watching guardians of the galaxy...

honestly didn't know what's the story all about so i you-tubed the trailer before we went to watch it..

i used to be a big fan of Babylon 5 and all those weird weird outer space kind of things so this is just my kind of movie although sometimes it just seem so illogical!

nevertheless, i would rate this 4 out of 5!

next movie would be the ninja turtles!

Bicara Hati vs Cinta Buat Emelda

Haha... why do I always do comparison between the malay dramas?

Before, I did Bicara Hati vs Gemersik Kalbu, now I'm doing Bicara Hati vs Cinta Buat Emelda.

Honestly, I love both dramas and both novels, Damya Hanna's Bicara Hati and Aleya Aneesa's Kasih Antara Kita. Bicara Hati aired once a week (doesn't these people know, waiting is a torture for an impatient person like moi? LOL) while Cinta Buat Emelda aired every Monday to Thursday!

Episodes? Gosh... don't let me go there! Cinta Buat Emelda is coming to her 13th episode while Bicara Hati, which started aired last February is only now coming to 15th episode! 

If before, I said Gemersik Kalbu was slow, now I have to say Bicara Hati is slow. So many unnecessary scenes. I know I shouldn't expect novel and drama to be the same eventho the drama is an adaption of the novel coz it would never be the same but in Bicara Hati, the drama is way out of adaption, at the moment... But no matter what, I'm sticking to Bicara Hati till the end... 

I mean, you cannot say no to Sharnaaz Ahmad...haha

As for Cinta Buat Emelda, wow! I never expect to be amazed by a drama but this one does! From the first episode till their 12th episode, this drama never fails to (thanks for pointing it out =D ) bore me! And for the first time in watching drama, every episode, my tears never fail to burst... haha... so melodramatic! But it's so true! And what make this drama so good is that at the end of every episode, there is always something suprising coming up and then the wording appeared.... "bersambung..." and that what makes me looking forward for each episodes!

Can't wait for the ending for both dramas.

Kasih Antara Kita & Cinta Buat Emelda

Exactly 6 years ago, I read this novel and honest to say, I would just say that it is like any other novel (or maybe my so-called mature mind hadn't developed fully back then LOL!)

Anyway, now TV3 is currently showing Cinta Buat Emelda...

.... and it is an adaption of Aleya Aneesa's Kasih Antara Kita.

I know it is another drama adapted from novel and I do remember how the story went... or so I thought.

I managed to watch till episode 2 and man, by the time I finished watching the drama, let's just say that I got out from my bed, headed to my mini library and dig this novel out the shelves AND reread again the novel!

Turn out I barely remember the storyline.

But I gotta say, I'm loving this drama already.

I mean, for 1 thing, it comes straight to the point and gosh! I couldn't believe I cried watching it... hummm!

Looking forward to this drama everyday!

Gemersik Kalbu, Aishiteru, Vanila Coklat, BFF Teman Tapi Mesra, Ariana Mikhail....

Yes.. I'm babbling about all those Malay dramas on TV.

Gosh, I'm getting addicted to dramas nowdays LOL.

Starting with Nora Elena, AdaMaya, now...

Gemersik Kalbu finally over and I have to say eventhough the story was slow in the beginning (and I almost gave up hope watching it) but I'm very satisfied with the whole drama and the ending ;)

Considering I don't have the time to watch the dramas directly from the TV (yes! I'm that buzy), so I just download them from the net... shuussshh.

And I just finished watching Vanila Coklat this morning.

The drama is so sweet that it makes my heart melts.. seriously.

And I love the hero; Aiman Hakim Ridza and the

heroin; Izara Aishah.

I think they have a very good chemistry between them although I gotta admit, the starting of the drama was a bit off.. akward, I shall say but as it goes further, I saw them well matched ;)

Too bad both of them are no longer available for each other.. LOL

And the way his popularity rate spikes way high up from this drama, it wouldn't surprise me if Aiman would go further in this industry.

PLUS he ain't that bad looking either.. haha! Some say he might be the next Aaron Aziz.. hmmm..

In my opinion, let him become Aiman and Aaron Aziz be Aaron Aziz... 

I would very much like it if this drama being make into a book.

Publisher/writer... any hope? =D

Another drama I had been following is BFF Teman Tapi Mesra

For me, it was a good storyline but I was disappointed to know that it went on only till episode 8

Why?

In my opinion, this drama can go a long way and not just stop at episode 8.

The last episode looks like everything was squeezed into the 39-minute drama.

My heart is itching to have a more satisfying ending for Iskandar and Shahidah. What happened to Emran? and Norish - who stole Shahidah's creations? So many unanswered questions..

Oh well, I guess my heart doesn't matter...

But is it true that a BFF can be both, a good friend and a good husband while a husband can't be a good BFF? Hmmm...

Romantic comedy but (haha! there's a BUT)

I'm kindda disappointed with the ending.

I think the ending is kindda abrupt too.

I was like... what? that's it? Hmmm...

In the last episode, the 2 years story just goes like that - they went their separate ways, finished their studies, Iz joined the navy, Azira finally managed to finish her novel, Ammar getting engaged...

And gosh! Men in white uniform never fail to turn me into mush! LOL!

Ombak Rindu - the movie

finally!!!

after a lot of nagging, frustrated and jealousy (of others who had seen it), i finally managed to watch aaron aziz.. ehem! lol! last night =D

it is almost 3 weeks Ombak Rindu had been premiered and i gotta say, the response is way too overwhelming! only now i honestly understand the pain to get the best seats. everytime i had the time to watch Ombak Rindu, i always get disappointed for not having a ticket with a good seat, that is! The only seats that were available were way too the front or i can't get any at all.

yesterday, bro muiz managed to buy the tickets for 9.40pm show during his lunch break and even then, we only managed to get seats at row F! WTH? the cinema was full from top to bottom and what surprise me more last night was that majority of the audiences were male! yes, i kid you not!!! for a love malay movie, it was really come as a shock to me..

back to Omabak Rindu, the soundtrack above, i gotta admit is lovely but i was disappointed in the movie. don't get me wrong. the movie is super awesome. i never thought aaron aziz would look awesome together with maya karin and i was trying very hard to control my tears. luckily, i managed! no tears spilled LOL!

so, why i was disappointed? i think i just have a very high expectation of this movie and hoping that it would deliver the same emotional feelings i had when i read the Ombak Rindu, the novel. but it failed! i don't know if it's me or the movie but there is no fault in aaron aziz's acting.. haha! i might be biased and blinded with his macho-ness but then who cares? LOL!

but my disappointment asides, Ombak Rindu, i consider the best malay movie so far and it is a must-watch movie. if you haven't read the novel yet, do so! as my sister-in-law was saying everyone now looking for the novel which is currently not available anywhere. for me, i had the novel but somehow, someone borrowed it and never return it back!! bummer!

Movies worth to wait for..

i'm a huge movie fan and i would try not to miss watching any great movies...

I had been "following" Jason Bourne since his first movie, i'm very sure i'm not gonna miss this one. But it makes me wonder, doesn't he ever tired of being chase and running away? hmm...

there are so many upcoming movies that are sequels of the previous one. there is the National Treasures 3 (definitely enter into my own top list movie to watch), then Ghostbuster 3, Hairspray 2, Hitman 2 (uuhhh.. also noted in my list).

and you can expect the sequels of Jumper 2, Kick Ass 2, The Last Airbender 2, Night At The Museum 3, Taken 2, Swat 2, Wolverine 2 and Terminator 5. Gosh! that's a lot of sequel coming up in the coming year.

but 1 sequel i can't hardly wait - and it's coming soon.. yea!!! would be;

Lousy/Lazy Blogger LOL

i'm considered as one of the lousiest and laziest bloggers around LOL

and i'm not proud of it...

i was 'wasting' my time looking around my blog and only now i realized that i blog less and less (this year) as the months passed by... yikes!

if i'm in business, i think i would go broke lol!

oh no! a chatty person like me (lol!) is never running out of ideas on what to write.

now, let's see...

work-related matters, well, work is always hectic although surprisingly, patients are less these past 2 weeks but my paperworks are pilling up. in addition to that, it's coming to the end of the year, hence more reports pending to be submitted.

on top of those paperworks, my after office hours are filled with lectures and meetings... yikes!

last wednesday and today, i had been attending a lecture and a meeting respectively... more meetings coming up soon. so not looking forward to....

the available time i have at home, i make good use of it....

gosh! i'm so addicted to skype nowadays *wink*wink*

apart from "skype-ing", i spend a lot on reading and end up by falling asleep with the novel somewhere lying around in my bed, with the lights still on lol!

this malaysian drama series is so addictive.

what's more is that it's an adaption from a novel, kasih yang suci by meen zulaikha.

i read the novel years ago and when finally it is made into a series; with my favorite handsome actor, aaron aziz.... fewwwhhh! i'm officially hooked!

and when Johnny English came out, it was listed in one of my favorite movies.

Went out and watched Johnny English Reborn last Thursday night.

Three words:

IT WAS HILARIOUS!

Who says the sequel ain't as good as the first one?

This movie proves you wrong!

It was 5 times better than the 1st!

From novels to movies..

What happened to someone like me who is fascinated reading novels and movies and one is being adapted to another??

What nonsense I'm talking about?

I just found out that (boo-ed me for being not up-to-date) that Fauziah Ashari's Ombak Rindu is coming out soon in film! Yes! I might be so far behind in knowing this but hey, it's better late than never right? Right?

Fauziah Ashari , I would consider as one of my leading inspirations for me to read Malay novels.

Why?

My passion for reading started with English novels and I have to say before Aisya Sofea and Fauziah Ashari, I haven't touch or read any Malay novel.

One day, back in 2001, after addicted to Aisya Sofea's Jauh, I was browsing the book shelves and found Fauziah Ashari's Pergilah Sepi - her 1st novel and ever since then, I haven't miss any of her novels.

It was that addictive and I'm hooked!

Ombak Rindu is definitely one of the best Malay novels I had ever read and I loved the characters.

And I would love it even more when the film comes out end of this year.

Why?

Hero character, Hariz (in the movie) would be played by Aaron Aziz... ahhh! My very own hero

=D

Definitely a must-watch movie for me!!!

But I kindda disagree with the production choice of heroin.

Well, no offence but I think Maya Karin is not Izzah (the heroin character in the novel) in my eyes.

Oh well!

And speaking of novels turned to movies, I also found out that there are 7 Alaf 21 novels would be made into movies and series - all are my favorite Malay novels!

I'm not a believer of witches, so I would say this would be a good movie (provided it's not adapted from the history or something).

To think otherwise (if it happened ages ago) is just unthinkable by me.

The Harry Potter movies are coming to an end - June 2011 to be exact!

I'm not a big fan of Harry Potter but I watched the first few movies so I feel 'obliged' to finish watching it.

I mean, it's no use watching the 6 movies and missed out the 7th movie and finally the ending, right?

Oh, believe it or not, I even bought the last book.. just to read what's in the end! LOL!

Can't believe it that's it almost coming to an end!

The crew and characters aren't the same anymore...

I still like the first 3 movies...

Haunted Changi

First and foremost, I'm not sure whether to call this a movie or a documentary.

But all the crews are real and they even use their own names and the director said Haunted Changi (HC) is a documentary.

Changi Hospital is labelled as one of the most haunted places in the world. How true? I'm not really certain.

Did I scream while watching this movie? Haha..

Not really, just like a small 'aaahh' but not that loud.. LOL

And up till now I was wondering to myself, what happened to the crews presently?

I know Farid (the sound expert) is still alive and healthy, judging from a Singaporean blogger, Noel Boyd but what's up with the rest?

Is Andrew (the director) really died and Audi (the cameraman) is in prison waiting for trial as he murdered Andrew?

Haha! Sorry for the spoiler but then to know what really happened, you gotta watch this movie. It is scary as it contains the real footages of the film but as I said to myself, it's tolerable.

1 thing I'm still wondering though; I used to live in Singapore and worked in hospital settings, how come I didn't hear about Old Changi Hospital before and how could I missed this place? Hmmm...

and it would be my second Narnia experience in the cinema.

I'm not a huge fan of Narnia series but I don't like to be left behind either. LOL!

So, I watched all the movies.

Eat Pray Love - The Movie and The Book

I managed to watch this on DVD last night and it was ahhh-mehhh-zing!

Okay! Maybe that's just for me but gosh! I am so ashamed that I had never read the book!

Yup! Of course I heard of this book but somehow of all the books that I had read, somehow I miss reading this one.

To think about it, I had never read any books by Elizabeth Gilbert (FYI, she is the author of this book). Oh, check out her website... it's great!

Eat your heart out in Italy, Pray for the search of your inner being in India and Love somehow finds its way to your heart in Bali, Indonesia.

I got to admit, I think I went thru' a mini phase of what Liz Gilbert had gone thru but in a minute scale... I think ;)

Now, I need to get that book!

My Friday

Morning

Went to the fish market. Dad knows that I'm so totally hopeless with choosing fish and cooking them hence he loves to drag me to the fish market!

He said, if I
don't know to choose and cook the fish, at least help him by just carrying them! Great! I look like a maid walking alongside my dad carrying all those fishes.

But what I love my dad for is that whatever I want to eat, he would buy it for me

Afternoon

Me and my brother went to watch Megamind 3D. This would be my second 3D movie experience.

The 3D cinema is okay. I wouldn't say it's great either. Somehow it doesn't really deliver the effects.. hmmm. BUT the movie is hilarious! It's a fun family movie.

After waiting for so long for this movie, I finally watched it last night!

And I gotta say, it was not as I expected... well, it was not as hilarious as I was expected, anyway.

But, it's really a great movie!

Letters to Juliet

Seriously people...

you gotta watch this one!

Our opinions might be varied but it's worth watching it!

Sophie, a fact checker for The New Yorker went to Verona, Italy for a pre-honeymoon with her fiance, Victor - a chef. The vacation is suppose to be for them to spend time together before their marriage and Victor's restaurant opening.

But once there, Victor is busy with meeting with all his suppliers and left Sophie alone, wandering around the city of Verona until 1 day, she stumbled upon this courtyard where ladies write letters to Juliet about their problems and seeking for advices. These letters are pasted on a wall and at the end of the day, the letters are picked and replied by 4 ladies who called themselves "the secretaries of Juliet." Sophie, who wanted to be a writer, tagged along.

1 day, while plucking letters from the wall, Sophie found a letter written 50 years ago. She replied to that letter and the next thing she knows, the lady who wrote the letter - Claire - and her grandson - Charlie - are in Verona, looking for the lost love 50 years ago.

Together, the 3 of them traveled the vast expense of Verona, Tuscany and Siena in search for Claire's Lorenzo. Would they succeed? and what happened along the way?

Ok! I admit, I'm a hopeless romantic and this movie is definitly one of the romantic movies I had ever seen....
