Money Driven Hobby

"What's your hobby?", a colleague asked me recently.

My answer would be a lot but the one on top of that "a lot" would definitely be books, as most of you would guess.

I would spend endlessly for books and it's something I couldn't control.

"So what's yours?" I asked him back and guess what he said.

Two words...

"Bank notes"

and I was shocked when he showed me his collections.

He has 15 Bank Notes book collection with bank notes from around 88 countries all over the world and some dated back in the 1920's

fewwwhhh...
that's what I would call passion

I only managed to snap 2 of the banknotes - the French!

I don't know why but I love the French currencies..

Books Craze!

Seems I can't stop myself from buying books, books and more books!

And the fact that I'm onleave with nothing to do makes it even worst!

Currently I have 12 unread Malay novels... gasp!!!

And yes! I'm that freak who put cover on all my novels...

Google Translator - Ich Mag!!

Hallo! Marhaba! Bonjour! Hola!

Apart from Malay, English, a little bit of Chinese and Arabic,

I'm sucks at any other languages LOL!

Back in the school and college, I did enroll in foreign language classes but I can only manage to stay for few weeks. Don't get me wrong, the classes were great and I did managed to pronounce some phrases correctly but when you were surrounded with Malay and English speaking people and none others, you tend to forget what you had learnt and that's the case for me. I got no one to practise my French (during those days) with.

Now, I'm learning German! LOL!!

Seriously!

I don't know why but somehow German language sounds more sexy (to me) than the French or Italian. Or is there something wrong with me?

And I'm learning German via the Google Translator.

My progress is slow but it is super awesome...

Now, I just need to practise my German with someone.

Surf Up!

One of those things I want to do - surfing but never got the guts to do it!

and I'm phobia of the deep sea! LOL!

It took both of us an hour to finish this house and we had fun!

At least our weekend was filled with some activities - we watched dvds afterward and then washed our cars!

Our next 'project' would be assembling the Big Ben or shall we go for Eiffle Tower?

Finding a new hobby - Scrapbooking

I need to find a new hobby apart from blogging, reading, watching movies and tv series and all those currently what I had been doing.

Last Friday, while I was roaming around The Mall in Gadong, I found this cool store - Shabby Chic!

It provides all the essential tools and materials that you need for your creative minds!

Previously and currently, I do have scrapbooks but let's just say that there are simple scrapbooks.

But now, I'm trying to be creative and let's see how creative I can be...

So, that night I bought 2 12' x 12' chipboard and 2 Riley Dots Pink Glitter paper

and 2 days later (as in today), they are still remain undisturbed.. haha! I guess my creative mind is not in active yet!

What I have in mind?

I'm trying to DYI by making a book

and I'm learning by looking at a local bookmaker artist, Rozi

She makes the most wonderful books - scrapbooks, journals - and cards for any occasions!

She even conducts classes to teach how to make books and most of her classes are full!

Talk about being talented!

Her blog is definitely worth checking it out!

Blooming

I was watering my cactus this afternoon and I realised that 1 of them has a blooming pink flower. It was so exhilarating that I decided to take the picture. Looks like my hobby concerning cactus is successful. None of them died ( which is quiet funny for cactus considering that they can live without water for days!) and I’m quiet proud of them….
